The annual meeting of the International Federation of Finance Museums (IFFM) took place in Brussels on 19-20 November 2025. This year's event was hosted by the Belgian Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) at the Wikifin Lab, its financial education centre.
The meeting focused on the theme of 'Empowering Financial Futures: Innovations in Education Centres and Museums', and gathered international experts to exchange ideas and showcase innovative practices in financial education museums.
MUDEM played a key role, contributing to three dedicated sessions:
- 'Beyond the museum walls', featuring the presentation of 'Le Mille Lire', the Museum of Money's first virtual exhibition, which was launched a few months ago;
- 'Immerse and interact: designing for memorable experiences', an interactive session showcasing MUDEM's virtual museum;
- 'Experiment with gamification & storytelling: participatory financial learning in action', highlighting the interdisciplinary approach that underpins the innovative design of the future museum.
The meeting reaffirmed MUDEM's commitment to leveraging new technologies and innovative storytelling approaches to make financial culture more accessible to citizens, while strengthening its active role in shaping the Federation's future.
