Coin Exhibition

A selection of the most beautiful coins from the Oddo collection and more besides, straight from the Bank of Italy's vault

The Bank of Italy owns many metal coins that have either been inherited from previous institutions, purchased or are part of the its gold reserves.

They include the Oddo collection, a selection from which was on display in the Money Museum in Palazzo Koch. The collection is named after an official at the Banco di Sicilia who became the numismatic secretary to King Victor Emmanuel III in the 1930s.

Some of the most beautiful coins will be on display in MUDEM's rooms while the Museum in Palazzo Koch is being refurbished.

We are actually planning a Gabinetto Numismatico (Coin Cabinet) for coin enthusiasts and scholars, which will allow people to study and enjoy the collections, including those that had previously lain in the dark of the Bank of Italy's vault.
