Are you ready for a fascinating trip around the world? A deck of cards will be our guide, each card showing one of the most beautiful banknotes ever designed and full of stories to tell!
The workshop takes young learners on a tour to near and faraway countries, using everyday and surprising objects, like banknotes. By carefully observing details in the design, symbols and colours, pupils work in groups to match each banknote to its country, choosing among different options and forming reasoned hypotheses.
Their conclusions are then shared, leading them to compare and verify the correct pairings using an interactive map that provides new content and more illustrations from each country.
As well as channelling financial education content, the activity stimulates collaboration among peers, observational and analytical skills, and transversal skills for negotiation and forming an argument.
The workshop is for both the first and second cycle of primary school, lasts an hour and is free.
