Workshops

Fibonacci: numbers, merchants and art

immagine di copertina

What do economics and finance have to do with Fibonacci?

Students start with a few excerpts from the Liber Abbaci, coming face to face with some of the mathematical innovations introduced by Fibonacci. Arabic numerals, positional notation and calculation methods that haven't changed much and that started a mathematical revolution that made it possible to solve complex problems with precision. Fibonacci modernized mathematics and made it accessible to all, so that 'no one be cheated'.

The workshop provides financial education content, by means of an original perspective that combines art and mathematics, stimulating observational and analytical skills.

The workshop is for lower secondary schools, lasts an hour and is completely free.
