The journey of money

Nothing is perhaps more familiar than money: it is something we use every day in its various forms (such as coins, banknotes or electronic money), when buying a comic book, paying for coffee, going to the cinema or taking the underground But have we ever stopped to think about what's behind these objects that continually change hands? What is it that really makes them money?

As they come to ask these questions, students will embark on a journey through the centuries, meeting legendary and historical figures, and learning about the most modern technologies.

The activity is designed to foster critical thinking through discussion and the exchange of ideas, and to learn to use electronic money and digital payments.

The workshop is for upper secondary schools, lasts an hour and is free.
