The European Central Bank (ECB) has launched an online survey open to all euro-area residents to select the future series of euro banknotes
As part of the process of redesigning the euro banknotes, the European Central Bank (ECB) has launched an online survey open to all European citizens, giving them the opportunity to choose the future banknote series from the ten shortlisted designs.
The public is invited to choose between design proposals inspired by two finalist themes:
- European culture
- Rivers and birds
The euro banknotes, used every day by more than 358 million people across 21 countries, are set to be redesigned to reinforce our shared European identity while making them even more secure, sustainable, durable and accessible, including for people with visual impairments.
The results of the survey will help inform the ECB Governing Council's final decision on the future banknote designs, which is expected by the end of the year.
You have until 21 September to vote for your favourite designs on the Banca d'Italia or ECB website!
